A charming thank-you card like this one is sure to elicit a smile from the recipient. Card designed by Laura Popiel.

Consider offering gift cards as a referral bonus for your clients. It’s a win-win situation.

TIP #95

Offer gift cards.

Gift cards are a solid return for the investment. Who would discard a small, credit card-sized gift card with a dark strip? People attach real value to those little plastic cards.

Plastic gift cards can be ordered from Marathon Press (www.marathonpress.com). They are reasonably priced in relation to the almost guaranteed high return they bring. By the way, the strip is only decorative and has no magnetic capability. It does a good job to add a sense of perceived value to the card!

Following photo sessions, Laura Popiel sends her clients thank-you cards. She also lets the clients know that for every new client they refer who comes into the studio, they will receive $50 off their next photo session. Once the referred client books a session, the original client receives a gift card for $50 that can be applied to their next photo session or purchase. Be sure to include all the “rules” pertaining to use of the card.
